**Your new role**

The Communications Officer assists with the development of communication materials and/or marketing collateral and is responsible for maintaining and updating written content across traditional and/or digital media channels. This includes writing and editing communication materials for publication to relevant audiences. The incumbent may also be responsible for coordinating requirements for local events.

**In this role, you will (but are not limited to)**:

- Prepare communication and promotional materials (including researching, writing copy, sourcing and taking photographs) for publishing through relevant channels (website, social media platforms and e-newsletters).
- Use a variety of digital tools and media including visual, to convey relevant messages and information.
- Ensure all written content complies with Curtin brand identity style guidelines.
- Coordinate logístical requirements for events and functions which support and promote area initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the University Marketing team and other Curtin stakeholders to ensure relevant content is consistently surfaced across other Curtin digital channels.
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
- Assist with promotion and marketing across multiple platforms including in-person presentations, online, social media and radio.
- Assist the national team with strategies to disseminate research and study information.
- Conduct in-person visits to medical clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, allied health organisations, sporting clubs etc to promote uptake of the study.

**Selection Criteria**:

- A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated digital media skills.
- Demonstrated professional writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and timely communication materials.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff across all levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to organise time and work activities according to priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as well as effectively as part of a team.
