**Position Title: Group Tannery Maintenance Specialist**

**Department: Maintenance Department**

**Reports to: Maintenance Manager**

**Position summary**:

- Provide technical support to maintain all tannery machinery.
- Training and knowledge transfer to maintenance fitters on all tannery machinery.
- Provide technical support to other plants of the group.
- Lead, manage and implement major projects.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Prepare detailed drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work.
- Perform technical service on specialised tannery machinery such as Feltre Chains,
flesher machine and sammier machines.
- Train and skill maintenance workers to perform maintenance on these specialised
machines.
- Advise Maintenance Manager of issues likely to affect production, safety, or costs.
- Write reports as required regarding status of maintenance jobs and issues of
significance.
- Perform or arrange scheduled preventative maintenance tasks for specialised
tannery machinery.
- Undertake spot checks of maintenance work to ascertain they are being completed
and to the standards required
- Support Maintenance Manager developing preventative maintenance schedule.
- To lead and implement safe major projects operations and works.
- To manage project WHS, costs and productivity of Contractors.
- Supervise work performed by external contractors including assembly and
installation of mechanical assemblies during project works.
- To be aware of technological developments, and make considered
recommendations that would improve the international competitiveness of AITopper.
- Ensure to consider most energy efficient production methods when implementing
new projects.

**Competencies and experience required**:

- Sound knowledge of tannery machinery.
- Sound knowledge of Project Management.

**Work Health & Safety**:

- Ensure the cost-effective management of OHS by implementing group-wide OHS
policies and practices, by monitoring conformance with policies, and by directing
corrective action as appropriate.

**WHS - Measures of Performance**:

- Monitor health & safety within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate commitment to health & safety through participation in formal and
informal discussions, hazard inspections, and incident investigation.
- Participate where required in the resolution of safety issues.
- Actively monitor the workplace to determine the presence of hazards and rectify any
hazards found.
- Ensure employees under their control are able to competently and safely perform
any work they undertake and are aware of the risks and hazards associated with
their work.

Participate in the rehabilitation of injured workers in consultation with the Return to Work Coordinator.

**Accountabilities**:

- **Performance of specialised tannery machines (Fleshers, Sammiers, Splitter,**
**Automation Equipment, Drums, etc.**
- **Preventative Maintenance Planning of specialised tannery machines.**
- **Training of personnel in the specialised tannery machines.**
- **Projects to fully commissioned implementation, in Scope, in Quality, in Time and in**
**Budget.**

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
