**The Opportunity**
- Gain experience with university investigator-initiated sponsor responsibilities for national and international clinical trials
- Assist with developing and refining the clinical trials governance framework within UNSW
- Involvement with the delivery and implementation of a new online ethics and governance platform
- $100,331 - $108,588 (depending on experience) + 17% super + annual leave loading, per annum
- Full-time, fixed term parental leave contract to April 2024

Oversee the compliance and regulatory requirements to facilitate assessment, initiation, and continued monitoring of clinical trials in accordance with UNSW requirements. Reporting to and working with the Human Research Manager, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to strategic and operational projects across the Research Ethics Compliance Support office.

The Research Ethics & Compliance Support (RECS) team coordinates committees and processes for research involving humans, animals, gene technology, radiation safety and research export controls and provides advice on legislative and other requirements in these areas. Committees include the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and its Human Research Ethics Advisory Panels (HREAPs). RECS also coordinate other research compliance areas such as export controls, drone use and quarantine.

**About the successful applicant**

You have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a clinical trials or research governance environment, as well as
- High-level knowledge of codes and legislation related to clinical trials and research governance, along with skills to interpret accordingly.
- Experience with safety monitoring and compliance reporting processes for clinical trials
- Ability to analyse policies or guidelines and provide guidance to stakeholders
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail, experience with generating formal and complex meeting minutes and communications.
- High level organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines and the ability to operate autonomously.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
