The role
As the Principal Information Management Officer, you will be responsible for providing authoritative advice and assistance on activities related to strategic information management (including policy, standards frameworks and governance), clinical data standards, clinical records management and end to end data quality improvement.
**Further duties include**:
- Provide expert advice and support to senior management on activities relating to strategic information management, clinical data standards, clinical records management, and end to end data quality improvement.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior management and other key stakeholders on strategic information management matters relating to national developments and policies.
- Assist Managers within Health Informatics Services ensure effective communication of strategic information management, clinical data standards, clinical records management and data quality activities across Queensland Health to promote improved end to end service delivery.
- Identify, promote and enhance shared knowledge and close linkages with programs delivering information systems to maximise consistency and compliance with state and national requirements.

- Demonstrated high level ability to provide expert leadership and strategic advice on strategic issues, new initiatives and national developments related to information management.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge of information management policies, standards and practice and their contribution to health service delivery.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, establish priorities and work as an effective member of a team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives, with the flexibility to adapt to emerging priorities.
- Proven ability to provide authoritative advice to senior management on a range of issues and to prepare documents including submissions, briefings and reports.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, negotiate, build and maintain effective relationships with multi-disciplinary staff at various levels throughout the organisation, state, national and industry levels.
