**About the role**:
The Support Service Department provides outstanding customer and couriering services to Calvary Mater Newcastle. The department is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of trained Porters and Courier personnel.
This position is responsible for providing safe Courier and Porter services for Calvary Mater Newcastle. Duties include, the transportation of patients, movement of pathology specimens, carrying of medical records, pharmacy deliveries (including cytotoxic drugs) and other general courier duties.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Work within a multidisciplinary team.
Perform duties in an orderly and timely fashion.
Organise work with minimum of direct supervision.
Maintain harmonious relations with hospital staff by behaving in a professional manner.

Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control principles.
Commitment to providing professional customer service to patients, staff and visitors.

The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement.
