**Your new company**
Open Arms is the leading provider of mental health services for veteran's and their families - they are a service founded by Vietnam war veterans which now provide essential services to all veteran's and their families.
As an Australia wide team they provide face to face counselling, telephone based support and case management to individuals and their families through a combination of proven clinical practices and new evidence based approaches.

You would be joining a large team of passionate and highly professional specialist staff, within a supportive working environment which provides clinical supervision, professional development opportunities and peer and management support.

**Your new role**
You will join a team of experienced clinical service providers made up of mental health social workers, clinical psychologists, mental health occupational therapists, and psychologists. You will provide high quality clinical services to veterans, ADF personnel, families and work within individual and couples counselling. Open Arms provides a wide range of group program services which you will support to the development and delivery of as a Counsellor. You will also build relationships with other government departments and community health agencies to ensure all identified needs of the client are met.
- Provision of high quality clinical services including assessment and referral, evidence based individual, couple and family counselling, and case management to eligible Open Arms clients in order to achieve outcomes identified in care planning processes.
- Contribution to the development and delivery of Open Arms group programs as required.
- Maintaining clinical records according to Open Arms standards, collating and analysing data from client records, and preparing reports as required to assist in evaluating and improving service delivery.
- Liaising and forming partnerships with DVA, the ADF, other government departments, ex-service organisations, community health and welfare agencies, and all other organisations involved in meeting the identified needs of veteran and defence force communities and families.
- Participation in and contribution to ongoing learning and development activities and maintenance of professional status.
- Participation in community development and service promotion activities as required.
- Participation in Open Arms program evaluation and research activities, contributing to project management activities that implement strategic directions and quality improvement recommendations, and provide feedback for ongoing development of clinical policies and procedures.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Qualifications must be of an accredited health professional or social worker (AHPRA or AASW), experience could be from Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Social Work or Mental Health Occupational therapy
- Have an understanding of psychosocial issues facing current and ex-serving ADF members and their families
- An ability to engage and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- A willingness to obtain a WWCC is essential
- Current valid Driver’s Licence
