**About the Role**
This position will work as part of a supportive and high performing team within the City Works Unit to contribute to maintaining a high level of work and support that is essential to the day-to-day operation of the Darebin Resource Recovery Centre.
- Operating within Council’s Resource Recovery Centre in accordance with operational and safety procedures
- To project a positive public image always and maintain a standard of behaviour when dealing with residents and ratepayers that will bring credit to the team and Council
- Assistance in the minor maintenance tasks within the Resource Recovery Centre
- Undertake other duties as directed within the skills and capabilities of a position at this level

**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the Resource Recovery environment
- Sound knowledge of OH&S processes and procedures
- Experience in the operation of a Resource Recovery Centre and backhoe/forklift operation
- Demonstrated understanding of a Resource Recovery Centre in a way that minimises the environmental impact
- Ability to ensure that the dealings with the public are undertaken in a courteous manner
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Contribute to a positive culture
- Teamwork - ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team
- Sound Communication Skills - both written and oral communication skills
