What does the job look like?

We are seeking a Subcontractor Manager to join the Retail team with flexibility to be based in either the Southeast or Western Suburbs. As this role manages our subcontractor fleet across the Woolworths network, there will be frequent travel required to each of our operational sites.

As the Subcontractor Manager, you will play a key role with the onboarding and ongoing governance of our subcontractor fleet to deliver safety, compliance, service, cost and continuous improvement in line with customer and internal key stakeholder expectations. Key areas:

- Effectively manage the onboarding for all new subcontractors coming into the business or being sourced for new business
- Ensure the Subcontractor driver group work within the guidelines of the Linfox Driver Policies/Procedures and the Service Level Agreement T&Cs.
- Holding Subcontractors accountable for the ongoing training of their driver group, ensuring refresher training timelines are met and maintained
- Assist the overall Linfox Business in building and maintaining a high-quality Subcontractor pool
- Build and foster a successful relationship with site teams through constant communication and providing prompt responses to issues raised
- Support the activities of transport teams to ensure service delivery standards and customer expectations are met.

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated and strong operational leader with previous experience managing a subcontractor fleet. You will be able to effectively manage your time to ensure objectives are met with the ability to adapt to fast paced changing environment. You can demonstrate:

- Operational experience within the transport/logistics industry is essential
- High regard for safe working practices, understanding of COR and vehicle compliance
- Knowledge of fatigue management and heavy vehicle safety
- Proven leadership capabilities including ability to effectively engage staff at all levels
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining deep customer relationships
- A proven track record in identification and delivery of projects improving cost effectiveness of operations
- Strong operational skills with demonstrated attention to detail, and ability to seek out improvements in processes
