The Field Specialists assists in operation and mechanical maintenance of complex machinery supporting onshore and offshore Oil & Gas operations across Australia.**Job duties and responsibilities**:

- providing backup to the Job Delivery Lead and PSD Managers in their absence
- selecting tools and equipment - controlling the direction of a wellbore with a variety of specialised bottom-hole assembly (BHA) tools and configurations designed to steer a drilling head
- assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- monitoring information transmitted from a number of downhole and surface sensors to measure the real-time performance of a drilling operation
- estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- participating in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs
- ensuring company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the Compliance Assessment Tool (CAT), self-assessments, and wellsite inspections
- organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
- leading service quality meetings with customers and improving performance using action plans to then execute service delivery to the customer
- developing customer contacts to promote company products and services
- participating in HSE and quality training initiatives and ensuring these HSE policies are observed to maintain the required safety levels

**Experience & Requirements**:

- 5+ years of experience in Directional Drilling (preference in non-conventional)
- PSD experience
- Engineering Diploma or equivalent trade qualification
- Availability to work on FIFO rotation to remote sites
- Experience with MWD and LWD
- Offshore tickets and certifications highly regarded - BOSIET, valid OGUK
