**About the role**

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic, client focussed Disability Support Workers to join our team in the North eastern Suburb of Viewbank.

Our house is home to 5 male residents. Experience with epilepsy & supporting people with Dysphasia is beneficial.

We want team members to access community activities with residents. It is also an expectation you will be confident to engage with allied health specialists and other stakeholders, including family members as we have strong family connections, so positive engagement is a priority.

A Driver’s licence is essential as at time you may need to assist with transportation needs for residents with bus runs and using a hoist in the bus is also required.

We require people with a strong work ethic and a commitment to working positively with the team of support workers and the residents in this house.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Provide quality direct support to service users in line with their support needs, the programs they are accessing, and all support plans including the service users Individual Plan
- Increase the service users’ skills through independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support and their enhanced participation as a valued member of their community
- Implement development programs and identify and support learning opportunities for service users
- Assist in the delivery of programs that facilitate service users’ development of social networks and inclusion in community activities

**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum Cert IV Qualified in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
- A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate
- A current unrestricted Driver Licence
- Hold or willing to obtain the NDIS workers screening check
- A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities
- The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process

**59:00/56:00**-This roster is **a **mix of morning & afternoon shifts - No sleep overs.

**Or**

**66:00/62:00 - **This roster is a mix of morning, full day & afternoon shifts - No Sleep overs.
