**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of finance business partnering services to support decision making across EPA.

This is an exciting role for a finance professional who wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You will be an integral part of the team that strives for high quality outputs and continuous improvement in a challenging work environment.

**In this role you will**:

- As a senior team member, lead and role model high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics and integrity to deliver high-quality business partnering services.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive culture, development of staff and high-performing team.
- Provide high-quality advice, information and analysis required to support decision making with your strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
- Lead the uplift of capability in budget and financial management across the EPA through provision of advice, outputs and training to the stakeholders from operational staff to senior executives.
- Be responsible for the preparation of monthly management reports for the Governing Board, Senior Executive Committee, Enterprise Committee and divisional senior management teams with detailed commentary, variance analysis and management recommendations.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and competing priorities effectively.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects for systems and processes.
- Build extensive knowledge of EPA’s strategic and regulatory priorities and performance objectives to facilitate the development and preparation of EPA’s annual budget, mid-year review, quarterly forecasting and input into State Government Budget processes.

**Skills and experience**
- A professional qualification as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is essential.
- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to competing priorities and manage challenging issues and/or stakeholders.
- Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with critical thinking.
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly (Technology-One experience is desirable).
