Maxima, in conjunction with the Redland City Council, are seeking a hands-on individual looking to kick-start their career in Arboriculture.

The Redland City Council is located within the Southeast region of Brisbane and are known for their relaxed coastal lifestyle and attractions. With a mission of ‘Make a Difference. Make it Count.’, the Redland City Council are committed to implementing a range of projects to deliver environmental and economic benefits to its 100,000 residents.

This 3-year apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to get your hands dirty and receive paid work outdoors and practical on-the-job training, all whilst studying towards a nationally recognised **Certificate III in Arboriculture.**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Trim and chip trees
- Tree removal
- Pest and weed control
- Mulch plants and trees
- Undertake appropriate climbing techniques
- Use of relevant machinery including chainsaws, woodchippers and Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)

**We’re looking for individuals who**:

- Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools
- Are committed, reliable and hardworking
- Manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
- Work effectively in a team with good communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude, and display initiative
- Able to follow directions and work under limited supervision

**Role Requirements**:

- Provisional or full driver’s licence and own vehicle (required)
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening or similar trade advantageous
