Precast Steel Fixer

Daily tasks performed by employee's
- Shape and fit the steel bars or mesh structures that are used to reinforce concrete in construction projects. Mix, lay, spread, compact and finish concrete for building and construction work.
- Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings to accurately construct cages for stairs, columns, wall and floor panels, and cores
- Read building plans to determine what materials are required for a particular job and set out the materials that you are going to use.
- Cut and shape steel bars, weld, wire, clip structural steel materials into place.
- General labour around the factory (EG: stocktake, maintenance of equipment and factory cleanliness, trade assisting other trades in the team)

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

- Must have own tool belt with all tools required to perform the job
- Fit and Healthy to perform the work
- The ability to read and understand blue prints provided to perform the task
- proficiency in measuring and cutting,
- Identifying flaws in the prefabricated concrete blocks and being able to cut to match blueprints given.
- The ability to use carpentry tools (drills drop saw ETC...)
- the ability to correctly calculate and determine angles and areas of surface
- knowledge of large leveling calculations and ensuring everything is squaring up
- an ability to operate independently and use initiative

BDK is looking to provide on going work for the foreseeable future 5 days a week Monday-Friday. All applicants must ensure they have their current drivers license and a personal vehicle to get to the factory.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Casual

**Salary**: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Precast: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)
