We are on the hunt for a National Channel Manager for our Australian retail business. You will be someone who possesses a high level of analytical ability and has a strong business acumen. The focus will be on two of our key business partners; NARTA (The National Associated Retail Traders of Australia) and the JB Group.

The role will be ideally based in Victoria, (with NSW being an option.)

About the role

The National Channel Manager role is largely one of influence, both inside Fisher and Paykel and the retailer organisation. And is responsible for creating, leading, and implementing the business strategy within the specific retail channels.

You’ll be responsible for creating compelling business cases around sound strategic plans and influencing internal stakeholders and business leaders within the retailer groups to adopt those business plans, ensuring the goals of F&P and the retailers are aligned and agreed upon.

You will be responsible for providing strategic insight and retailer feedback into demand planning team, leading to high accuracy channel forecasts. Utilising a high level of communication skills to provide clarity, purpose and execution for the wider sales team are considered essential.

This is where you come in

You’ll be a leader in retail: Leading the identification and qualification of opportunities within retailer. Leading retail partner meetings with retailer committees and executives. Developing and delivering trading terms with retailers. Leading the implementation of insight messages for greater share of retailer spend. Analysing and responding to retail partner state/store performance. Providing detailed insight into demand planning team to deliver accurate channel forecasts. Leading key state/HO partner store visits and performance reviews. Role modelling F&P leadership behaviours and living the core Mental Models through your actions.

Development and Administration: In conjunction with GM, Sales, work to identify own training and development needs and execute these. Analysing market/competitors and risks and undertaking retail forecasting and market share planning.

You’ll work with the National Training Manager in rolling out retailer focused training. Providing coaching to state-based account management teams, as well as managing expenses and other admin.

Strategic and Planning: In conjunction with GM, Sales and key Sales stakeholders, you’ll develop and implement sales strategy plans. Undertake ongoing, systematic evaluation of the sales strategy plan and analysis of results. Develop and implement pricing and deal plans. Partner with Account Managers in State’s to implement sales plans. Lead pre call and insight planning. Lead retailer alignment planning including gap analysis. And monthly reporting of the business dashboard with key metrics.

You will be a seasoned Channel Manger, able to handle the intricacies of a complex retail environment whilst balancing the needs of our business with those of our partners.
