The Donations Officer is an important role within the team, responsible for ensuring that all donors are appropriately acknowledged and thanked in a timely manner and all fundraising income is recorded and reported against in line with best practice standards.

Reporting to the Program Manager Fundraising, the Donations Officer, provides all administrative and database support in relation to efficiently and accurately recording, acknowledging, banking and reporting against all incoming donations for Guide Dogs Tasmania and VisAbility.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**
- Process and record all incoming donor donations (including, but not limited to, on-line, bank transfers, via phone and hard copy as well as community engagement and fundraising events etc) and Collection Dog funds and accurately record in the database.
- Record future pledged income and initiate communications to realise pledged income.
- Raise donation invoices as and when required.
- Ensure consistency and high-quality in relation to issuing donor acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
- Support the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator with issuing invoices for any community engagement visits and/or speaker events.
- Ensure that donations are acknowledged in-line with the Stewardship Framework.
- Report against activity i.e. number of donations received and from particular sources (i.e. Collection Dog program, specific events etc) as an when required for the Program Manager Fundraising and Senior Manager Fundraising.
- Maintain and update the integrity and accuracy of the database in relation to all incoming donations, future pledges and donation invoices.
- Maintain data security protocols to protect sensitive donor information.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**Skills and attributes required**
- Proven experience in donation processing and database administration, preferably in a not-for-profit or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of data security.
- Excellent communication skills to provide support and guidance to staff.
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.
- Proficiency in data reporting and analysis.
- National Police Clearance
- NDIS Check
