On behalf of DSBOOKS PTY LTD a book retailing company dedicated to providing high-quality Islamic educational and entertainment content to readers, based in the Coburg VIC 3058 area, we are conducting a search for an experienced and skilled Buyer/Retail Buyer to join the team.
**Current Opening**:
This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Conduct market research to identify trends and consumer preferences in Islamic literature and educational materials.
- Source high-quality Islamic books and educational products from publishers and distributors.
- Negotiate favourable terms and contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of Islamic books and related products to meet customer demand while minimising excess stock.
- Ensure effective product placement and signage to enhance visibility and drive sales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with publishers, distributors and suppliers of Islamic literature and educational materials.
- Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks on incoming merchandise to ensure compliance with DSBOOKS' standards for accuracy, authenticity and condition.
- Address any quality issues promptly and work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or returns efficiently.
- Monitor sales performance of Islamic books and products, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Provide expert advice and assistance to customers seeking guidance on Islamic literature and educational materials.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Relevant qualifications
- A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with various genres of Islamic literature, including Quranic studies, Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic history, preferred.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends and consumer preferences.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and contracts with publishers and distributors.
- Proficiency in implementing inventory control measures to track stock movement and shelf life effectively.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in conducting quality inspections of incoming merchandise.
- Excellent communication skills to provide expert advice and assistance to customers.
**Salary**:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $85,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
