About you

The Assistant Director of Midwifery provides leadership and management of the midwifery and nursing team within the Calvary Public Hospital Bruce Women’s and Children’s Division. This role includes but not limited to: overseeing the delivery of quality and safe patient care by meeting the NSQHS Standards, operational planning, supporting a skilled workforce, quality improvement, human resource management, financial and capital assessment management and administrative coordination.

What you bring

Demonstrate positive leadership and collaboration to promote productive working relationships within the Women’s and Children’s division.

Collaborate with Women’s Health Services and consumers in the ACT, for the planning and provision of services that best meet the needs of the community, in line with CPHB strategic priorities.

Actively contribute to the achievement of Calvary Public Hospital Bruce’s strategies, plans and key performances

Oversee the recruitment, professional development, competencies and utilisation of the midwifery and nursing workforce to meet service and patient needs

Facilitate the evaluation and development of policies and processes to ensure effective, efficient patient care in line with evidenced based best practice.

Give direction to education, training and professional development requirements of midwifery staff within the service, in line with professional standards and Calvary Public Hospital Bruce priorities.

Manage personnel, professional and performance matters relating to the midwifery workforce in consultation with the Director, Women’s & Children’s, and Human Resources

Management of resources including workforce within the organisations specified budget.
