Library Technician

**Role Description/Criteria**

This position has a focus on the operational and technical aspects of library and information work, with tasks and responsibilities that include:

- Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive Library environment for staff and students
- Perform point of contact duties including circulation, student and staff assistance, and reference enquiries
- Supervision in the Library including before and after school
- Maintain a strong knowledge of print and online resources
- Engage in YA fiction resource management
- Process and catalogue library and department resources in OCLC Library Management System
- Promotion of library resources and services through posters and electronic displays
- Operating a wide range of digital technologies and platforms
- Troubleshooting access to digital textbooks for teachers and students
- Processing books, including covering
- Assist with weeding the collection and stocktake
- Shelving, printing and photocopying assistance
- Working independently and as part of the Library team
- Other duties as directed by Head of Library

Library Technicians hold an ALIA accredited Diploma in Library and Information Studies.
