**The opportunity**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospital dispensary or oncology technician to join us at Epic Pharmacy, based on site at Northern Beaches Private Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for you to further enhance your career in an ever-evolving multidisciplinary team environment and work with both public and private patients.
Gain the chance to upskill your experience in hospital oncology and clinical pharmacy services in our supportive and experienced team. Technicians with relevant dispensary experience who are new to oncology are welcome to apply, as training will be provided.

**In this role, you’ll**:
- Dispense and supply medications for hospital patients and outpatients
- Assist in the preparation and compounding of aseptic cytotoxic products and non-hazardous patient prescriptions, including the sterile cleaning process (training can be provided to the right applicant)
- Order chemotherapy from an aseptic manufacturer
- Be a valued member of the team delivering clinical trials of new cancer therapies to our community
- Coordinate the safe, accurate and timely supply of all medications and aseptic products
- Keep accurate records of continuing and existing treatments and organise confirmation of future orders
- Complete data entry of patient specific information into Oncology databases
- Liaise with hospital staff and associated employees
- Assist with the management of PBS claim and owing prescriptions
- Assist with stock management activities
- Customer account billing and record management
- Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
- Produce medication discharge profiles
- Undertake delivery and collection of medication
- Assist with patient account enquiries

**About the hospital**:
Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed hospital providing care to both public and private patients. The hospital has a 50 bed Emergency Department, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, Renal, Cancer Care, Mental Health and Antimicrobial Stewardship services.
The Epic team at Northern Beaches is situated in the foyer of the hospital and has 32 full-time-equivalent staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our team is split between the dispensary and the wards with pharmacists providing a full clinical service to all inpatient wards of the hospital.
