Your role:
As an Infantry Soldier, you’ll learn to carry out patrols and surveillance tasks, cordon and search tasks as well the skills required to provide security for other units and agencies. You’ll learn how to locate enemy targets, fight at close quarters and how to effectively seize and hold ground.

Your duties include, but aren’t limited to:

- Locating enemies by gathering intelligence through patrol and surveillance
- Seizing and holding ground from enemy forces
- Offensive and Defensive Operations
- Providing security for Army units and vital assets
- Humanitarian assistance missions
- International training, advise and assist missions

**Location**:
Following your initial military training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. The majority of these positions are located in QLD, NSW, SA and the NT. It’s not possible to guarantee a specific posting location for the duration of your service, therefore you must be willing to relocate.

**Salary**:
In the Army you'll get paid a competitive salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications. Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $54,815 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training.

On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you could earn $77,450 per annum plus generous super.

For this role, you must be an Australian citizen, over 17 at the time of enlistment and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics.
