**About the team**

The Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) is an innovative, non-profit, national educational consortium that was established in 1994 to develop and coordinate high-quality, semester-long study programs at Indonesian partner universities for Australian university students. The consortium is coordinated by a national secretariat based at The University of Western Australia and governed by a National Reference Group consisting of senior Indonesian Studies academics representing all Australian states. The main objective of the ACICIS Secretariat is to oversee and administer the operation of ACICIS’ in-country study programs in Indonesia and to provide a central point of contact for ACICIS’ member universities.

**About the opportunity**

As the appointee, you will, under general direction, provide both administrative and research support to the operations of the ACICIS Secretariat.

Under the direction of the Secretariat Coordinator, you will provide administrative support for ACICIS’ routine activities in both Australia and Indonesia, including, but not limited to, pre-, mid
- and post program administration, development of new products and services, and the planning and preparation of on
- and off
- campus events. Additionally, you will conduct basic desktop research on matters of interest to ACICIS and play a key role in supporting the project management and routine activities of the ACICIS Secretariat.

This is a Perth-based position.

**About you**

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
Essential:

- Tertiary qualification (complete or in progress) and/or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training
- Considerable relevant administrative experience of tasks and projects as well as ability to take advantage of new opportunities
- Native or near-native English language skills, strong command of expression and grammar alongside proven ability to prepare written materials that are clear and coherent
- Well developed numeracy and knowledge of financial and business procedures
- Well developed written and verbal communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff and stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
- Well developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines

Desirable:

- Prior experience in customer facing administrative roles
- Experience in website maintenance
- Some knowledge of graphic design packages, particularly Adobe InDesign
- Prior experience living in Indonesia and intermediate-to-advanced Indonesian language skills (written and spoken)

**Note the below will be required for the successful applicant**:

- Flexibility to be “on call” to respond to in-country emergencies, including outside normal office hours
- Occasional weekend and after-hours work, typically at short notice
