**The Role**
The Strategic Policy and Projects (SPP) is responsible for supporting the build and delivery of numerous IT system projects that support Australian Skills, Training, Apprenticeships and employers.
The SPP Project Management Office (PMO), through effective and efficient project management functions supports the Division and relevant executives in managing IT based projects. The PMO does this by ensuring a consistent view of each project is maintained through governance arrangements, reporting, financial and contract management.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:
- perform research work and analysis including contribution to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities and milestones,
- oversee databases, data linkages and undertake data quality assurance,
- process analytical results and present data into formats suitable for interpretation,
- assist in creating and maintaining IT project progress reports and coordination activities,
- undertake and manage moderately complex reporting projects under the direction of higher classification levels,
- contribute to development plans and objectives for short-term tasks of the work area and contribute to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives of the section,
- ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
- a good communicator (both verbal and written), energetic and self-motivated,
- keen to take on new challenges, opportunities and learn new skills,
- ability to effectively manage competing deadlines to achieve results and deliver high quality outcomes,
- able to work with limited direction and to achieve results in a fluid and agile environment,
- a natural problem solver with strategic and analytical thinking skills, and the ability to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
