**About the Role**

The Coordinator: Library Services leads and has operational responsibility for the delivery of the ‘Ask the Library’ Virtual Enquiry Service currently led from the Magill Campus. This position also leads the management and delivery of Library facilities, services and resources in support of UniSA’s academic programs and research activities.

**The University of South Australia Library** supports the University’s teaching learning and research mission through provision of relevant information resources and associated services. The Library also coordinates copyright for the University. There are four campus libraries, located at City East, City West, Magill and Mawson Lakes as well as the Off-Campus Library Service supporting regional engagement at Whyalla and Mount Gambier. Information technology and information resource management services are on the Mawson Lakes campus. The Library has a growing research collection with over 700,000 ebooks and online journals as well as print resources and archival collections.

The Library is operating in an environment of increasing availability of digital information and demand and plays a significant role in training staff and students in information skills.

The University has adopted a Digital Library Strategy to accelerate the acquisition of books in digital format and has adopted a next generation Library Management System as part of its commitment to making information resources accessible to the University community 24x7.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage the ‘Ask the Library’ Virtual Enquiry Service across each of the campus libraries focused on innovative and continuous service improvement, including the evaluation and operational responsibility for client/enquiry management systems
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Magill campus team, including staffing rosters, client liaison and operational management of the Magill campus collections, spaces and facilities
- Chair and lead the strategic projects of the Client Services Working Group
- Ensure that staff across the Library have adequate training and development to deliver high quality, client focussed assistance and support services
- Work with Academic Unit and UniSA Online stakeholders to maintain the Library’s collections to reflect the academic and research programs of the university
- Lead copyright education initiatives within the portfolio
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance access to scholarly information resources and support services

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as library and information management, information technology, or education)
- Extensive experience in an academic or Library environment
- Strong experience leading a service delivery team, including the development, implementation and continuous improvement of work practices and procedures
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to be innovative and creative in providing advice and solutions to service needs
- High level interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated ability to liaise with senior academic, research and educational support staff in the University
- High level analytical, research and writing skills to enable the effective synthesis of relevant information and data, and the provision of high-quality written reports and correspondence
- Proven ability to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures and legislative requirements relevant to the University
