As the
**Architect-Design Manager**, you will be the mastermind behind beautifully crafted learning spaces, where our teachers and children will embark on daily adventures, always feeling safe to learn, explore and create. Collaborating closely with our New Service Function, you will plan, design and supervise the construction of our Services to produce environments tailored to our Nido practices and encompassing the Nido Way. It's about continuous refinement, staying best-in-class, whilst ensuring building is on time, to budget and built to the Nido design brief and specifications.

**What you will be responsible for**:
Reviewing and maintaining Nido design schedule
- Continually review and refine our design schedule and brief, ensuring we are constantly innovating and remain best in class
- Consult with Children, families, educators and industry leaders to bring new ideas to life
- Research latest trends in Interior Architecture, playscapes and design
Design, review and influence drawings
- Work closely with external stakeholders to ensure designs meet Nido’s objectives
- Maintain the construction schedule to ensure all key stakeholders across Nido are kept regularly informed of key delivery dates.
- Support in development and design of external play spaces
- Ensure all designs are compliant with state regulations & child safe standards.
- Be the voice of Nido between developer and builder
Oversee the innovation of internal playscape designs
- Champion feedback from both internal & external sources to incorporate into our designs to continually evolve our offerings
- Consult with families, educators, and industry leaders to bring new ideas and concepts to life within our internal and playscape designs
Project Management
- Oversee all construction and coordinate with Project Manager to implement plans and specifications of the project
- Communicate the coordination of interior fit outs with the New Service Team
- Visit site 3-4 times throughout the build, to ensure it is being built to a Nido standard.
- Attend Practical Completion Walk Through - completing relevant PC Handover Document.
- Visit site after project completion to ensure that the brief is satisfied
Budget Management
- Estimate project costs.
- Review and approve any variations that are sent through - ensuring spend, is built into the budget.
**What you will bring**:
- Bachelor or Master’s in Architecture
- Previous experience working on architecture projects in Schools, Aged Care Facilities or similar
- Experience using CAD Software programmes
- Familiar with council regulations, DA’s / CC’s
- Artistic ability to develop aesthetically pleasing designs
- Creativity and imagination
- Strong attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Have the flexibility to travel interstate
