**Job Description**:
**About The Role**
Leidos have an opportunity for a commercial professional to work in the Commercial and Procurement function as a Commercial or Senior Commercial Lead supporting Business Development. This role will be based in our Canberra Kingston office.

This role will see you be responsible for the management of commercial and contract aspects in relation to major and high profile Defence and Federal government tenders.

**You will**:

- Support the Business Development and Capture Managers to win new work as a lead or commercial support on tenders by:

- Reviewing and advising on Approach to Market documents from the Commonwealth
- Leading commercial engagement with potential project partners and subcontractors, including organising Teaming Agreements, managing approaches to market for potential partners, supporting partner selection and negotiation of quotes
- Leading commercial authoring for tender responses to the Commonwealth
- Assist with new business proposals and manage commercial approval processes for new business.
- Advise on, as escalate as appropriate, complex commercial matters as required.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, particularly Australian small to medium enterprises supporting the Federal Government IT and Defence industries.
- Support ad hoc commercial tasks for the broader Leidos team, including providing review and advice on commercial engagements

**Qualifications**:
**About you**

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.
**You have**:

- Experience in working with the Commonwealth and suppliers, including in preparing RFQs and negotiating in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience with Defence ASDEFCON procurement and contracting templates
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in tight timeframes.
- Experience with commercial drafting and preparation of supplier documentation in response to customer approaches to market through Requests for Tender/Quote, including Schedule of Subcontractors, Australian Industry Capability, and Statements of Compliance.
- Ability to negotiate scope and pricing with suppliers as part of development of Leidos proposals and bids.
- Experience working in small, dynamic interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in managing large or complex contracts is desirable.

**Required**:
Applicants will need to obtain or hold a current Baseline Clearance.
