The Pest Animals Project Officer is a new position and will work within the compliance space of pest animals management. The Project Officer will engage with a variety of stakeholders and communities to educate and encourage participation in local pest management programs. The position will provide support to regional employees; will contribute to the Regional Landscape Plan in collecting, interpreting and assessing animal control data and issues; will creative positive working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues, and provide technical advice and support for a range of programs, projects and compliance activities. A complex and varied role, this position will be based at either Clare or Gawler, with extensive and regular travel throughout the Northern and Yorke region required. Experience is key and the right person will need to have skills in project management, conflict resolution, networking and building relationships, as well as clear and thoughtful written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of biosecurity, pest management issues as well as relevant and appropriate legislation is also required. This role is classified as a Position of Trust and therefore requires both a National Police Clearance (NPC) as well as a Working with Children Check (WwCC). A current driver's licence is also essential, as is the knowledge and ability to safely operate a 4WD vehicle.
