Toy Library Coordinator

**Are you passionate about play?**

The Eltham Toy Library is looking for a dynamic and engaging coordinator to oversee day to day toy library operations, including the running of toy library borrowing sessions. This is a paid part-time position (10 hours per week) that is critical to the successful running of the toy library.

Role duties include:

- Proactively foster a welcoming environment for members and volunteers
- Register and orientate new members, ensuring borrowers are aware of the rules and responsibilities of being an Eltham Toy Library member
- Coordinate borrowing sessions including the provision of advice and support to members on toy selection as well as management of monetary transactions relating to membership fees and fines
- Training and supervision of volunteers
- Manage toy collection including identifying toys for purchasing, cataloguing toys, maintenance of toys (regular assessment of safety, cleanliness and packaging)
- Provide representation for Eltham Toy Library at committee meetings, including providing updates on memberships and borrowing

What you will bring:

- Great people skills are a must and experience working with families with young children would be ideal.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Experience in a toy library or community focused not for profit environment desirable but not essential
- Valid Working With Children and Police check required

Key selection criteria:

- Experience or understanding of the value and importance of play
- An understanding of developmental milestones of children and an ability to match appropriate play materials to these developmental stages
- The ability to manage time effectively and work with limited supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to create warm, welcoming and caring environments

Hours and conditions:

- This role is currently for 10 hours a week (across 3 shifts with some ad-hoc admin time). The current shift times are Tuesday morning, Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon.
- We are looking for someone to start ASAP.
- Pay rates and conditions are per the relevant Award rate

**Salary**: From $22.11 per hour
