We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy HSSE Manager to join our Lombrum Naval Base Infrastructure project team based on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea (PNG). In this role you will effectively be responsible for ensuring we maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all personnel, in accordance with Clough Management system expectations, operating standards, and HSSE management manual, statutory requirements, and client specifications.

This role is located on Manus Island in PNG with a working roster of 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off. We FIFO from Brisbane and Cairns (preferred).

Clough has been awarded the Lombrum Naval Base (LNB) Infrastructure project in PNG. The project includes for the delivery of infrastructure and facilities at LNB. The main works will see infrastructure construction across the LNB. This includes electrical generation services, its distribution and wastewater service.

Your focus will include:
- Support HSSE Manager to develop, implement and maintain the Project’s HSE improvement plans,- Present HSE strategies and plans, results and incident reviews to Project management team- Lead the project site teams providing guidance on safe work practices and procedures, implementing changes where required,- Deliver HSE results from project wide audit program and provide reports and reviews on incident and HSE performance across the project,- Mentor, train and lead team members in achieving the zero-harm culture and drive our framework through company standards, systems/processes.

What you will bring to the team:
- Degree qualified -in WHS, OHS or equivalent field or diploma in safety with significant on the job experience,- Over10 years’ experience in HSE Management or Lead role,- Experience in building and infrastructure projects preferably in a remote environment- Technical knowledge of regulator cods and standards,- Proven experience working with stakeholders of all levels and influencing to ensure delivery of safety outcomes and initiatives,- Experience managing subcontractors, and a team made up of expatriates and national workers,- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to produce reports to the project team, client and government entities
