- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Processing Gynaecologic, Non-Gynaecologic, and Veterinary specimens for microscopic evaluation. Thin-prep and Surepath processing, manual staining, operating automated stainers, machine maintenance, cover-slipping and labelling.
- Disposal of biohazardous materials, chemical waste, sharps, and other potentially hazardous materials.
- Maintain, operate and trouble shoot equipment, quality control, safety and preventative maintenance logs.
- Liasing with other departments and service providers.
- Trouble shooting.
- Answering phone queries. Filing of slides and paperwork**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- A Tertiary qualification in Laboratory Science.
- The appointee must be reliable, flexible, willing to work as part of a team, follow instructions but also be able to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and accurate computer skills. Attention to detail is pertinent.
- Work rotating shifts including weekends. Rostered days for this position will be from Tuesday to Saturday. Initially during the training period Monday to Friday will be the rostered work days.
- Previous experience and a sound knowledge of WH&S is advantageous. Ideally applicants will have experience within a Medical field or laboratory.- .**Employee benefits and wellbeing**
