**The Role**:
The role acts as a government authority, and utilises high levels of expertise, in cadastral surveying and land tenure.

The incumbent represents the Department and the State as a member of the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM) Cadastral Working Group, has the delegated powers and functions of the Surveyor-General and acts as the ICSM and Surveyors Board proxy when the Surveyor-General cannot attend.

The position also provides expert specialist advice and recommendations to the Surveyor-General and Principal Cadastral Surveyor, and expert consultancy to industry, Land Services SA, the Surveyors Board, Crown Solicitors Office, other LBE business units and government agencies and lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of complex functions and major investigations.

**About You**:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

- Demonstrated ability to work under broad guidelines, determine professional objectives and priorities within the framework of the agency’s corporate goals and manage competing agendas to meet program deadlines within budget and time constraints.
- Highly effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills which foster trust and cooperation and a proven ability to engage across all levels in Government, industry, and research sectors to build and sustain productive working relationships with a diversity of stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cadastral surveying and land tenure including related statutory responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise significant professional judgement to make evidence-based decisions at strategic and operational levels.

**Qualification**:

- Licensed as a Surveyor, or eligible to be licensed, under the provisions of the Survey Act 1992.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

**Remuneration**:
PO4 - $107,448 min - $116,936 max
