Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We are currently seeking either a **3**rd** or 4**th** Year Fitter and Turner Apprentice. **Our client **Austube Mills**, located in **Acacia Ridge**, has been** **proudly manufacturing since 1934, providing products and services with the best and most innovative steel solutions for Australian designs and conditions.

While working alongside experienced tradespeople you will gain valuable hands-on experience, mentoring and support. You will work in the workshop and at sites, performing fitting and assembly of components, assemble items precisely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, manufacture precision components using manual lathe and mill, and perform general machining tasks to meet project requirements and servicing.

Undertaking this four-year apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Fitter & Turner and you will earn your **MEM30219** **Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.**

**ABOUT YOU**
- Driver’s licence required
- Construction white card
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong commitment to safety
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be prepared to work overtime.
- Be prepared to travel to various sites
- Strong Mechanical aptitude and previous experience with machinery
- Welding experience beneficial
- Motivation to learn new knowledge and skills
- Hard-working person who can work autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen and Police Check
