**About the role**

The Northern VACCA Family Violence Program provides holistic support for Aboriginal women and their children (and where relevant and appropriate, their families) who are experiencing family violence. In this position you will be required to support community members to increase their safety by providing a range of support including case work, referrals, court support, comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy and outreach.

**About You**
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to the values that underpin VACCAs visions and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally.
- Proven ability to work with, engage and advocate on behalf of Aboriginal families and individuals including an awareness of family violence issues and the impacts on women, children and families.
- Demonstrated experience in the family violence risk assessments and knowledge of, or willingness to learn the Family Violence Multi Agency Risk Assessment Management (MARAM) framework.
- Proven experience in case management tasks, such as admin, assessments, referrals case planning, case notes and case closure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to work collaboratively, with the local Family Violence Service sector, including identifying key organizations to support Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrates effective and culturally appropriate interpersonal skills e.g. active listening, empathy in all verbal and non-verbal communications
- Proven ability to support the use of new technology and client data bases.
