**Preschool Inclusion Consultant | KU Children’s Services - Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches**

We are currently recruiting for experienced early childhood teacher’s whose passion is to support the provision of inclusive environments for all children. A teacher (degree qualified) who is experienced with including children with additional needs, who can coach and mentor preschool educators to reflect on their program and environment to implement strategies to improve the quality of inclusive practice at their preschool.

**The Role**:
The Preschool Inclusion Consultant will work with educators in many specified preschools across the region to deliver the key objectives of the program, which are to:

- Increase the capacity of the early childhood education sector to include children with disability and additional needs on the same basis as their peers;
- Enable equitable education outcomes for children with disability and additional needs consistent with the five outcome areas of the Early Years Learning Framework (Identity, Connectedness, Wellbeing, Confident and Involved Learners, Communication);
- Increase the capacity of the EC sector to provide specialised transition to school supports for children with disability and additional needs and
- Understand the external support options for children with disability and additional needs, and how these supports can be used to complement the preschool program.

**To commence in early Jan 2024, this is part time 3-4 days per week **region based from home and visiting community preschools to provide inclusion support. This will be offered **fixed term contract until end of June 2024 **with likely extension, for service delivery under the NSW Dept of Education's Sector Capacity Building program.

**About You**:

- Degree in Early Childhood Education or above
- Demonstrated current knowledge of the early childhood sector, including knowledge of the NQF and EYLF
- Capacity to share inclusive practices and collaboratively plan to solve inclusion barriers
- Significant experience working in early childhood services and including children with disabilities and additional needs
- Advanced understanding of child development
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning
- NSW Employee Working with children check
- Effective oral and written communication skills that enhance a collaborative and capacity building approach in working with preschool educators
- Ability to facilitate change of practice through the use of critical reflection and use of a strengths-based approach
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and the ability to respond positively to change within the work environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with using standard computer software, such as Microsoft Office
- Current driver’s licence and use of a comprehensively insured, registered motor vehicle
