**About Us**

Our Community Safety Team provide a highly visible and responsive Community Safety service in partnership with the Community to contribute to a safe and secure lifestyle and sustainable city.

**About the Position**

Our Community Safety team are currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated Rangers who are confident in engaging with our community and customer focused. In this position you will provide community education and the enforcement of relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws to improve community safety and neighbourhood amenity.

We have multiple opportunities available and will invite selected applicants to be considered for future roles as they appear.

This position operates on a 9-day fortnight roster and may include weekend and night shifts.

**Key Responsibilities**

The duties of the Ranger will include but are not limited to:

- Attending to general ranger duties including enquiries and complaints received concerning the various responsibilities undertaken by the section.
- Interpretation, administration and enforcement of relevant Acts, regulations, and Local Laws.
- Efficiently and accurately utilise mobile computing, GPS technology and other related systems.
- Undertaking parking patrols to encourage/achieve a high level of compliance with parking prohibitions and restrictions and to deter anti-social behaviour.
- Assist with the operations of the Animal Care Facility.

**About You**
- Previous experience as a Ranger or in a similar role; including experience in local government or similar law enforcement settings.
- Experience with investigations including supporting documentation.
- Experience in animal handling.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, superior community engagement and customer service, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with experience in dealing with difficult situations.
- Knowledge of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws applicable to Ranger Services, as well as the ability to research and interpret legislative requirements.

This permanent position is a Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attracts a salary from $85,751.72 - $90,264.87 gross pro rata per annum plus 15% shift loading and superannuation. The position also includes use of a company vehicle.
