The centre’s Digital Governance, Security, Risk and Operations business unit is responsible for the advising and reviewing the Digital and Campus Service governance activities, cybersecurity operations, information security and risk assurance, the Technical Services and IT Collaboration teams.
The Role
The Information Security Operations Manager will report to the Manager, Digital Governance, Security, Risk and Operations, who has the CISO responsibility.
The Information Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the university's information security operations and systems, playing a critical role in detection and reporting of cyber security incidents, whilst maintaining contemporary and resilient security systems to support the university’s operations.
This role will manage the team of information security and risk analysts to deliver the information security services and risk advisory to the University staff, students and other stakeholders.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Monitor security incidents, conduct investigations, and ensure incident response procedures are managed, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken to resolve and prevent security breaches.
Prepare and present regular reports on security operations, incidents, trends, and performance indicators to senior management.
Lead the Security Analyst team with clear direction and enabling problem solving to deal with monitoring of systems and controls.
Be an active contributor to the university’s cybersecurity ecosystems which includes government, university collaborative bodies, vendor and service providers.
Stay current with emerging cyber security technologies, trends, and threats, and make recommendations to existing security controls or building the case for the adoption of new solutions or services.
Key Criteria
The successful applicant will ideally have;
Experience in a similar role with 10+ years of increasing responsibility in relevant IT disciplines.
Experience managing teams and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in a senior role.
Experience working and building collaborative and effective relationships with C-Suite stakeholders.
The successful applicant will be required to provide a national police clearance.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, ongoing position attracts a competitive salary, plus 17% University superannuation contribution. Your role is required to be rostered on-call and attracts an on-call allowance as defined by the ECU Enterprise Agreement.
