**About the Role**

In this role you will support Community Development Program (CDP) to improve the quality of life of participants and increase support for them to access services in the community. The Homelands Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of activities and case management in communities in West Arnhem Homelands. This role is an integral part of the delivery of CDP in the Homelands and is a major component of engagement with the wider community.
The ultimate objective of this role is to support the Homelands to achieve their community goals through meaningful community engagement, quality case management and development of high-quality community projects.
**This is based in a remote community in the Northern Territory and will involve extensive travel within remote communities in East and West Arnhem regions. The willingness and ability to fly in light aircraft or by 4WD vehicle, is essential.**
**Responsibilities**
- Regular travel to the Homelands for CDP appointments and to undertake community consultation.
- Case management including, but not limited to, identifying participants’ barriers to participation and formulating solutions in collaboration with participants including the provision of administration support.
- Provide tailored programs to participants and support participants to identify their individual goals and aspirations.
- Provide administrative and logistics support to the sites within remit.
- Build and maintain relationships with the wider CDP team, subcontractors, employers, stakeholders, participants, and community members to promote CDP.
**Skills and Experience**
- Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels and language abilities.
- Proven case management experience in a cross-cultural environment.
- Strong advocacy and networking skills.
- Desire to work with Aboriginal people in a remote setting and the ability to do so flexibly, and autonomously but with a culturally appropriate and collaborative style.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- An ability to obtain and maintain a NT driver’s license and drive a 4WD vehicle.
**Desirable**
- Previous experience working in CDP as an Employment Consultant.
- Qualifications in human, social, and or community services.
- Leadership experience.
- Experience working with Aboriginal people in a remote environment.
- Prior experience working in the Northern Territory.
