The Magistrates Clerks Branch is currently seeking motivated and capable administrative people (multiple positions available) to join as judicial support within the Magistrates Court. The Magistrates Clerk is an important element of the Court proceedings and is responsible for the provision of a comprehensive administrative support service to the Magistracy both in and out of the courtroom, including the accurate recording of Court proceedings, and management and production of supporting documents for the Court.

Magistrates Clerks have the opportunity to work in all jurisdictions of the Magistrates or Youth Court and may have the opportunity to travel to various CBD, suburban and country Court locations.

As the role requires a specific skill set, Magistrates Clerks are supported within an initial training period of at least 3 months (full-time) and have the ability to progress to higher responsibility and remuneration levels thereafter. Full-time roles, of varying tenures are available at various locations.

**ABOUT the Organisation**

The Court Administration Authority of South Australia’s primary purpose is to provide participating Courts and court users with services and facilities that support the proper administration of justice.
We have a workforce of over 700 employees working under the _Courts Administration Act 1993_ in an independent statutory authority. Most of these employees work in an administrative capacity to support the Courts to operate effectively.

**Special Conditions**:

- 12 month contracts with possible extension
- Appointment is under the _Courts Administration Act, 1993_. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the _Public Sector Act, 2009._
- This role is identified as a Prescribed Position and the successful applicant is required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment with the CAA, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
WWCC’s can be obtained through the Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Appointees will be required to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
- You will be required to undertake work related intra or interstate travel, which may require driving a motor vehicle and overnight absences.
- You will be required to work at any court sitting place in any jurisdiction of the Magistrates Court or Youth Court, or any business unit on a temporary or ongoing basis.

**Remuneration**:
ASO3 - ASO4 ($65,606 - $77,901 per annum)
