**About the role**

The Executive Officer plays an integral part in supporting the Executive Director and broader leadership team. Providing exceptional day-to-day professional support and timely expert coordination and communication. The role will also include:

- Collaborating with a range of stakeholders to execute various of critical issues, services and projects relating to key strategic objectives.
- Prepare, proofread and review correspondence, communications, presentations, speaking points to Executive Director
- Managing, coordinating and/or support on the implementation of initiatives and people projects as deemed priority by the Executive Director
- Act as the escalation point and raise issues/risk on projects or people matters with Executive Director
- Cascade key messages between leadership, teams and stakeholders within and outside of the directorate
- Provide ad-hoc support and advice to the People Culture and Capability leadership team on a range of areas including recruitment, procurement, finance, correspondence, and culture.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in Human Resource Management
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
