**Quick overview of the role**

Contribute toward the effective operational health, safety, training, and environmental performance across the organisation. This role is primarily an operational/in-field support role, proactively engaging with workers on all HSE-related matters. You will be providing technical advice and ensuring compliance is in line with HSE-related legislation, codes and standards and HSE management systems relative to the organisation. Join a large HSEQ team and contribute to our goal of zero harm

**What will you be doing?**
- Assist to provide training and practical support with HSE-related management systems and proactively consult and implement system improvements.
- Engage with and support internal Buddy Trainers & Assessors.
- Assist and record regular safety walks, task observations, hazard identification, internal audits, and other HSE-related assurance activities across the organisation.
- Participate in incident investigations and ensure quality standards of incident findings and corrective action management.
- Assist to facilitate department and workgroup risk assessments
- Provide mentoring and support to work group HSRs
- Assist with the coordination of fire safety and emergency management-related activities and compliance across the organisation.
- Support HSE-related training and coaching activities, including active engagement at group toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and HSR Committee meetings
- Assist to develop, maintain and evaluate effectiveness of company inductions and other e-learning courses.
- Assist in effectively addressing HSE-related non-conformances raised through internal and external audits.
- Assist to develop internal training guides and training and assessment plans.
- Minimum Certificate IV in WHS
- Minimum of C Class Provisional Driver’s license
- Incident investigation training/experience (i.e., 5-Why, ICAM methodology)
- Appropriate experience or other qualifications relevant to the given role
- Sound knowledge of production planning
- Highly organised with time management skills
- Ability to ensure excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- A team player with a positive nature and can-do attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Cert IV Trainer & Assessor or equivalent skillset
- Previously worked within the steel reinforcing industry desirable
