**The opportunity**:
Become a Biosecurity Field Officer at AsureQuality on a permanent basis for the Gisborne region.

At AsureQuality our Biosecurity surveillance team provide services to help protect New Zealand against exotic pests and disease incursions and this is an opportunity for you to be on the frontline of this battle.

In this role you will
- Undertake Pest plant control and Ecological restoration programmes for various customers such as the Waingake Transformation Programme in Gisborne where we work alongside Maraetaha Inc and Gisborne District Council.
- Pest plant control and ecological restoration programmes for customers, such as Waingake Transformation Programme in Gisborne where we work alongside Maraetaha Inc and Gisborne District Council.
- Provide protection at high-risk sites such as farms, sea-ports, airports and transitional facilities.
- Report on data and auditing for your region.
- Respect mātauranga (understanding) Māori and local tikanga (culture) and encourage their practice in our roles.
- Provide assistance with biosecurity surveillance and response tasks when required for various programmes - including Fruit Fly Surveillance & National Interest Pest Response (NIPR)

This is a full-time (40 hour per week) permanent job, that involves working flexible hours over 5 days per week within Monday to Saturday. Flexible start and end times. Based in Gisborne.

**About you**:
To be considered for this role you will
- Be physically fit and able to walk for long periods of time.
- Able to use phone apps and computer technology.
- Respect for Te Reo me ona tikanga Maori and other cultures.
- Can-do attitude and a great work ethic.
- Previous experience in Biosecurity is highly desirable but not essential.
- A full, clean New Zealand drivers licence is desired but not essential.
