Reporting to the Regional Manager, your role as Operations Manager will be vital. You will establish ongoing operations that deliver the contract specifications and maintain enjoyable spaces for the community. With teams in Ōamaru, Palmerston and Kurow comprising approximately 22 members, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of activities, including mowing, horticulture, response, playgrounds, facilities, sports fields, and cemeteries services.

**Here's what we are looking for**:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a confident leader with prior experience in a similar industry and a proven track record of leading teams to success. You should be approachable, able to thrive in sometimes unexpected situations, and capable of making the "right call" when necessary to provide certainty and confidence to the team in their work.

You will also have:

- Solid financial skills, including developing targets, maintaining budgets, and analysing operational initiatives, with a proven ability to manage projects, deliver within time, and budget constraints
- Strong written, computer, and report-writing skills. Additionally, you should be an effective communicator, capable of establishing strong relationships internally and with external clients
- Exceptional people management skills, including experience in recruitment, performance management, engagement, training, and development
- A positive attitude toward working safely and a commitment to upholding our company's health and safety culture
- A qualification in either Horticulture or Sports Turf Management would be advantageous
- A full, New Zealand driver's license with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
