**The Role**

Reporting to the General Manager and A/Prof Faruque Riffat, you will provide efficient and clinical care in_ _ENT and Head and Neck surgery for adult and paediatric patients. The position will provide medical and surgical support to the ENT consultants and nursing staff within the hospital.

**As an ENT Registrar, your responsibilities will include**:

- Provision of surgical assistant skills in the operating theatre to support the Accredited Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in the treatment of _adult and paediatric patients_
- Review patients in the wards, Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit as required by and under the supervision of the Accredited VMO.
- Review inpatients pre and post-operatively at the request of the Accredited VMO.
- Participate in ENT Department meetings.
- Participate in clinical teaching opportunities.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Essential qualities:

- Current Medical Practitioner AHPRA Registration (General Registration)
- MBBS and eligible for AHPRA Registration
- Experience in a similar role within the public or private health sector
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and training requirements for junior doctors
- Ability to liaise and develop positive working relationships with relevant authorities and VMOs/Staff Specialists
- PGY3 or more
- Current Advanced Life Support certification
- Ability to identify deteriorating patients and provide immediate resuscitation
- Team player with excellent clinical assessment and communication skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and organisational skills
- Excellent technical skills, including central venous access, arterial lines and endotracheal intubation
- Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support certification desired

This role is a temporary 11-month appointment to start on 3 March 2025.
