We are currently seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join a State Government Department for a temporary position. This position will be up to 4 month duration with an immediate start.

**General Duties**:

- Assist in the development and coordination of communication plans to prepare site staff across the department
- Develop and maintain key messages to support all phases of project implementation.
- Assist in the development and coordination of communication plans
- Assist in managing the development and production of a large range of communication materials (including electronic and print publications, promotional items, event collateral and online content) to
- Assist with the internal communication activities including developing content for internal newsletter and site.
- Coordinate communication initiatives for post activation to support staff with transition to ‘business as usual’ practices.
- Foster and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers by regular collaboration and providing high quality advice.

**Desired Experience**:

- Proven experience in the research, development and implementation of communication strategies.
- Experience in planning and managing special events such as launches, community workshops, staff forums, presentations to very tight timelines.
- Experience in managing the development and production of communications collateral such as publications, brochures, websites and promotional materials.
- Experience in briefing and working collaboratively with a range of external organisations such as advertising agencies, graphic designers and market research organisations.
- Experience in developing and implementing content for online platforms.
