**The Position**

**St John of God Berwick Hospital** has a total of 202 beds, eight operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical, offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Berwick Hospital.

An opportunity has become available for an Exercise Physiologist (Grade 1) to commence in our Outpatients Department. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of high quality, compassionate and safe clinical services to clients & patients of the hospital. You will ensure practice is in accordance to the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Practice and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

To be considered for this position applicants must hold a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science or similar and be eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

Demonstrated prior experience within a hospital setting will be highly regarded.

This position will be offered as parental leave cover fixed term contract for 12 months, working 45 hours per fortnight.
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science or similar. Eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Experience in assessment, exercise prescription, monitoring and progressions for special population using evidence-based practices in therapy (e.g. Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiac and metabolic conditions).
- Demonstrate capacity to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Eligible for Medicare Provider number.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, quality improvement.
