**Role**:
The Leading Teacher (Outdoor Education) will lead a team that includes the teaching staff, camp cooking staff and trainee staff to deliver the full program of outdoor education activities offered to year 9 and 10 students at the Millgrove Outdoor Education Centre.

**Responsibilities**:
25 year 9 and 10 camps are conducted during term times from Mondays to Fridays. In addition to working on these camps the Leading Teacher (Outdoor Education) is required to be available for the equivalent of 6 more weeks of the year. Duties carried out in this time include planning and preparation, maintenance, working bees, training and assisting with the running of the School¿s Outdoor Activities Program. These duties may require some weekend work.

As this is a residential camp the successful applicant will be required to stay on site overnight (two nights per five-day program) and will be expected to work extended hours including evenings in order to supervise students during programs.

The scope of the activities offered to Melbourne High School students includes mountain bike riding, canoeing, raft building, caving, cross country skiing, high ropes course, bushwalking, team initiative activities, overnight campouts, indoor climbing and general games. The successful applicant is expected to have skills and experience in these activities and if not already qualified, must be willing to seek these qualifications where necessary. Costs for undertaking these qualifications may be reimbursed by the School.

The successful applicant is required to hold a ¿Light Rigid¿ endorsement on their driver¿s license and a current Leaders Wilderness or Remote First Aid Certificate. A Hazardous Area endorsement on their bus licence would be advantageous but not mandatory.

The successful applicant may be required to perform other duties as specified relating to the ongoing running and maintenance of the campsite.

**Other Information**:
Whilst camps are in residence the Leading Teacher (Outdoor Education) will be expected to work extended hours. The time in-lieu that is accrued is acquitted as per the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022.
