**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Diabetes education position on a casual basis within the Diabetes education team at Mercy
- Mercy Hospital for Women, a service that specialises in obstetric and neonatal care, is located in Heidelberg
- An opportunity exists for a diabetes educator, with flexibility in their working week to join our service on a casual basis to cover sick leave, planned annual and long service leave
- To provide clinical nursing leadership encompassing consultation and clinical practice, education, research and the care of women with diabetes and their families
- To provide support for women with diabetes and their families while planning for pregnancy, during pregnancy and in the post-natal period
- This role provides the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of diabetes educators, physicians and endocrinologists who excel and collaborate to optimise excellent, patient centred clinical outcomes

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Current AHPRA Registration, Registered Nurse, Division 1
- Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education
- Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) with Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) or working towards
- Minimum of 5 years post registration experience
- Demonstrated ability to exercise advanced clinical skills and knowledge in acute, hospital based complex care environments
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including: problem solving, conflict resolution, communication and liaison skills
