**The Role**
Reporting to the Director Internal Audit, the Data Strategist and Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy that will enhance the way the Enterprise Risk, Assurance and Investigations Branch uses data to drive positive outcomes across it’s areas of responsibility, namely:

- Enterprise risk reporting and analysis
- Analysis of departmental operations for the purposes of internal audit
- Fraud and Corruption prevention, detection and response

This role is an opportunity to influence the way the department engages with data, analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance existing capabilities and develop intelligence led responses to key and emerging issues.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities may include:

- Developing a data strategy for the Enterprise Risk, Assurance and Investigations Branch that considers data available and how the branch can leverage better analytics to enhance the services the branch offers,
- Identifying data sources, custodians and access limitations,
- Developing business cases and negotiating access to relevant data sets across the department,
- Developing business cases for systems and tools to undertake analytics and artificial intelligence,
- Identifying opportunities for automation, analytics and artificial intelligence relating to internal audit, fraud detection and generating intelligence insights,
- Working with stakeholders to understand their analysis needs and undertake custom data analysis projects,
- Developing databases and data analysis reports for various program and policy areas,
- Data analysis and visualisation for governance committees and reporting,
- Developing executive briefs.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Data analytics qualifications and experience required.
