**A bit about the role**
You will be responsible for overseeing the team’s significant offering of programs, events, volunteering opportunities, collections, and competitions across multiple sites so your excellent interpersonal, project planning, marketing, and time management skills will be a prerequisite for this diverse role.
You will be expected to contribute to strategic direction and innovation within Wyndham City Libraries and you will be responsible for ensuring the team’s offering is aligned with strategic priorities and the needs and interests of children and young people in Wyndham.
This position requires managing a team based across six library locations, and an ability to work in the evening and on weekends on a regular basis, so flexibility is essential.
**What you’ll deliver**
- Supportive and inspirational leadership to the Library Education and Youth Team.
- High-quality programs and events for youth and children aged 6+.
- Engagement and partnerships with local schools and other community organisations.
- Quality YA (Young Adult) collections.
- Strategic planning and direction for the team.
**What you’ll bring**
- Experience designing, delivering, promoting, and evaluating programs or services for children and/or young people.
- Experience in a leadership role, preferably within a library or educational setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with an ability to support staff to create professional written communications across different channels.
- Tertiary qualifications in Education, Information Management or Librarianship.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver services in partnership with the community.
- Adaptable and flexible mindset
- A current Working with Children Check and a current driver’s licence.
