**About the position**

Applications are sought for the position of referral Consultant at the new Victorian Heart Hospital within the Monash Lung Sleep Allergy and Immunology team. Monash Lung and Sleep department is one of the largest departments in Melbourne servicing patients with lung disease. Specialised care is provided to a significant number of patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Asthma, COPD, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), lung infections, lung nodules and cancer, Cystic Fibrosis and other ongoing lung conditions constitute a growing burden of chronic lung disease. Procedural work through Endoscopy is a significant component of our service, providing diagnostics and treatments as required.

We coordinate services across a number of sites: Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Victorian Heart Hospital, and Dandenong Hospital, implementing a high level of care to patients in the Monash Health catchment. Our goals are to provide world's best practice healthcare in partnership with patients and their families, other tertiary care services, community physicians, general practitioners and other health service providers. We are leaders in research and build strong links with Hudson Institute, Monash University, and are strong supporters of the collaborative work across other health services in this field.

**About the Role**

The successful applicant will broadly participate in all aspects of respiratory and sleep care for patients at Monash Health in a share referral service role at Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH). This will entail inpatient services (rostered 13 weeks per session across the year) at VHH, with optional outpatient clinics and management at Monash Medical Centre Clayton. Teaching and research activities are conducted at Monash Medical Centre Clayton.

**About You**

You will need to demonstrate a high level of commitment to ethical practice, commitment to professional
- led regulation, effectively manage matters of patient safety and quality of care. You will have at least 2 years’ experience in Respiratory Medicine and aim to work alongside a team focused on developing research and translating into medical knowledge and practice. You can demonstrate clinical Leadership with proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide leadership in professional standards, ethics and a commitment to research innovation.

**What you need**:

- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
- Fellowship of the Allergy/Immunology or equivalent
- Working with Children's Certificate
- Membership with RACS and ASOHNS
