***About the role**
As the Arboriculture Inspector you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, heath, and amenity of the Council’s urban forest to ensure the safety of the community.

You will undertake customer generated arboriculture inspections for required tree pruning and maintenance, provide reports and advice to stakeholders and ensure that all services are delivered in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

This position is an integral part of the Parks Services team and is responsible for providing services that meet the needs of Glen Eira City Council.
- Day to day duties include but not limited to_:

- Undertaking practical arboricultural works on occasion to ensure the safety of the public
- Assisting the Urban Forest Team Leader with numerous duties including:

- Tree maintenance and compliance in supervising the Arboriculture Team and contractors.
- Advising both written and orally to relevant departments and the community.
- Updating electronic tree management systems, keeping the continuity of appropriate reporting for ongoing works.
- Developing and enhancing necessary procedures, standards, and guidelines for effective delivery of services to Council that are cost effective, of consistent quality and reliability.

**About you**
This position requires a thorough understanding of current Arboriculture practices and processes. You will have an extensive understanding of the relevant policies and procedures that govern the management of the Glen Eira urban forest. You will strive for service excellence when providing information to residents regarding arboriculture and tree maintenance advice, in relation to Council owned trees on request.

The following is also required:

- Diploma in Arboriculture (Certificate 5) or demonstrated relevant experience and/or qualifications in the arboriculture field.
- UET20321 Certificate II in ESI - Powerline Vegetation Control.
- Demonstrated high level of competence in tree related project development, planning and experience in managing contractors’ OH&S.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to effectively supervise staff and contractors’ performance and workloads, with a commitment to quality services and teamwork.
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Medium Rigid Driver’s Licence (desirable).
